Here's a tip that turns a love lock into a conversation piece: photograph your lock at the destination. Hold it up in front of the Eiffel Tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Colosseum, a quiet street in a town nobody's heard of. The lock in the foreground, the place in the background.
